Mocs Host Saturday Doubleheader at Manker-Patten

UTC faces North Alabama (1:00 p.m.) and Tennessee Wesleyan (6:00 p.m.) on Saturday.

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis team hosts a doubleheader at Manker-Patten Tennis Center this weekend.  The Mocs welcome North Alabama and Tennessee Wesleyan on Saturday, Feb. 10.

The Mocs open the day with a 1:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) match against UNA.  The night-capper is a 6:00 p.m. dual against TWC.

"After being on the road for most of the start of the season, playing five out six on the road, we are very excited to be home," stated head coach Chuck Merzbacher. "These teams are solid matches for us, and playing two matches in one day, we know that we must be focused. We are looking forward to playing in front of our crowd at Manker-Patten Tennis Club."

UTC enters the weekend with a 2-5 overall record.  The Mocs have wins over Lee and Austin Peay to this point in the spring.

The Lions are a member of the NCAA Division II Gulf South Conference, but are set to transition to Division I.  The open the season on Thursday at Martin Methodist, before facing UAB on Friday. Chattanooga holds a 9-1 record all-time against UNA.  The Bulldogs won 4-2 on Feb. 20, 2016, but the Mocs took last year's match 6-1 on Feb. 18.

The Bulldogs are members of the NAIA Appalachian Athletic Conference.  Saturday's action is their first of the season.  The Mocs are 5-0 all-time against TWC, including a 5-2 win on March 22, 2017.

Admission is always free to UTC's home tennis matches.  Be sure to check back to GoMocs.com for a full recap of the action.
