University of Tennessee at Chattanooga junior men's tennis student-athlete Niklas Gerdes posted a win in the preliminary qualifying round at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., today. 

Gerdes scored a three-set victory against Georgia Southern's Stefano Di Aloy in the top collegiate tournament of the fall.  He was knocked out in the second round by Cleveland State's Matthew Terry [7-6 (4), 6-2]. 

Junior Simon Bustamante lost his opening round match to Temple's Mark Wallner (6-3, 6-4).  He has a consolation match tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. (E.D.T.) to close out the tournament.
