Mocs Host Davidson on Sunday

Note the change in match time to 12:00 p.m.

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga wrestling team is back at home in Maclellan Gym for another Southern Conference match this weekend.  The Mocs welcome the Davidson Wildcats to campus on Sunday, Jan. 27.

Doors open at 11:00 a.m. (E.S.T.) at Maclellan Gym with the match set to start at 12:00 p.m. Reminder to all fans attending that UTC's Clear Bag Policy is in effect for Maclellan Gym.

Match time has been moved up two hours from the originally scheduled time due to the memorial service for former head coach Jim Morgan that afternoon.  Coach Morgan passed away on Jan. 19 and his service is Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Baylor Alumni Chapel at Chattanooga's Baylor School.

Due to construction on Vine Street, only two doors are open for fan access to Maclellan.  These include the Douglas Street entrance across from the Boling Apartments and Terrell Owens Way entrance across from the UC.

Live video for the match is available through MocsVision.  There is also live scoring via TrackWrestling and links for both are on the wrestling schedule page on GoMocs.com.  Live updates are posted on the UTC Twitter page @UTCWrestling.

The Mocs are 3-5 overall, and 1-0 in SoCon action, after last week's 32-8 win over VMI.  UTC also has wins against Kent State (21-15) at the Virginia Duals and Edinboro (23-15) on Dec. 18.  Three of the Mocs losses have come against ranked opponents, including No. 21 UNC (10-23) on Nov. 11 and No. 13 Virginia Tech (4-35) and No. 16 Arizona State (16-22) at the Virginia Duals.

Davidson is 2-7 overall and 0-1 in SoCon matches.  Their two wins came in November, over UNC Pembroke (31-17) and Greensboro College (41-3).

Chattanooga is 26-0 all-time against Davidson. The Mocs won last year's meeting 43-3 on Dec. 2 in Davidson, N.C.
