Overview
Landon "Bones" Jones gave Chattanooga Mocs wrestling fans plenty to get excited about over the weekend. His 5th-place finish at the 2026 U23 Freestyle Nationals in Geneva, Ohio headlined a good showing for the Regional Training Center South contingent.
 
Jones reached the main draw quarterfinals. He bulldozed his way through the consolations winning five of six bouts to claim the 5th-place medal. All five of those triumphs came by tech fall. He had cumulative 66-13 scoresheet in the wrestlebacks. His lone losses were to the second and third-place finishers.
 
His 43 points scored led the way for his squad. Fellow rising sophomore Tavian Camper was next with 25 points at 74 kilos. Redshirt freshman Brayden Leach scored 23 points in the same weight class, while junior Ethan Lipsey, an area native from Cleveland, tallied 20 at 61 kg.
