ABOUT CHATTANOOGA GOLF
GREENSBORO, N.C.---The Chattanooga Mocs are fifth with 36 holes to play at the Grandover Collegiate. The Mocs shot 600 with an opening round 293 followed by 307 at the Grandover Resort.
The 293 was led by
Connor Nolan's even-par 72.
Matt Smith, and
Will Porter both turned in 73s.
Moritz Lammel completed the tally with 75.
Oliver Simonsen paced the afternoon effort with 75. Smith was once again one behind with 76, while Porter and Nolan matched with 78.
Leon Bader shined as an individual. He opened with 68 and ended up with 73 in the afternoon. He's second with 3-under 141. Smith is tied for 16th with
A.J. Lintunen, who's second among the Mocs indys, with 149.
Connor Nolan is tied for 19th at 150.
A trio of Mocs are tied for 25th at 151. Porter and Simonsen are joined by
Dominic Jones, the final of the ndividual contingent. Lammel had 158.
Host UNCG is the team leader with 584. Rutgers is in second, two strokes back with 586. The player leaderboard is topped by the Scarlet Knights' Tony Jiang with 4-under 140.

- The Mocs opening round 293 ties for fifth-lowest team score this season with the final 18 total at the Carpet Capital Collegiate. Lowest round at Grandover Resort since 2014's final level-par 282.
- Bader's 18 and 36-hole scores are career lows. The 68 is his second card in the 60s and eighth career par or better (second in 2019-20).
