Biography

- The fourth Scottish junior player to join the program this decade joining All-American Chris Robb, Liam Johnston & Ewan Scott.
 
2019-20
- TR McAfee Memorial Golf Scholarship.
- Started all eight events…team-low 73.13 stroke average…counted in 23 of 24 rounds.
- Eight par or better cards with two in the 60s…low 18 was a 66 (-5) midway through Alister Mackenzie Invitational…career-low 54-hole total there with 206 (-7)…three par or better 54-hole scores.
- Final appearance before COVID shutdown was his top 10 tying for eight at Tiger Invitational shooting 2-under 214.
- 82 birdies was highest total ranking third on the team at 3.42 per 18…career-best eight over second 18 at Alister Mackenzie…10 cards with four or more.
- 257 pars…double digits on all but six cards…high of 14 in second round of Graeme McDowell Invite…36 there was tourney best.
- Dean’s List & A.D. Honor Roll.
 
2018-19
- TR McAfee Memorial Golf Scholarship.
- Made seven starts in his nine appearances…second on the squad with a 73.37 stroke average…that number dropped to 72.76 over his 21 cards in team competition counting in 20 of those rounds.
- Three top 10s including a top 5…career-best third-place finish with a 7-under 209 at the Memphis Intercollegiate won by teammate Oliver Simonsen…laid down his best 18 (66), 36 (137) and 54-hole (209) tallies at Colonial Country Club.
- Led the squad with a 4-over 220 in the season-opening Carpet Capital Collegiate…played the Farm at 5 over (72.83) in six competitive rounds including sixth-place finish at Roadrunner Classic as an individual in the spring.
- Other top 10 came in the season-ending Southern Conference Championships tying for 10th with teammate Lake Johnson.
- Team leader in par 3 scoring (3.10) and recording the fewest bogeys per round (3.17)…second in birdies (3.50), par 5 scoring (4.75) and par or better holes percentage (77.8%).
- 12 par or better cards with one in the 60s…registered at least one in all seven starts…two par or better finishes with his 7 under at Memphis and level-par at the Autotrader Collegiate.
- 84 birdies…career-high eight on the opening card at Memphis…four or more 10 times…54-hole top number of 14 came at first two events of the season at the Carpet Capital and Memphis…10 or more five times in his seven starts.
- 250 pars…new careers highs for a round (15) and tournament (37) at the Autotrader.
- Dean’s List and Athletic Director’s Honor Roll student.
 
2017-18
- Started nine of 10 tourney appearances…counter in 21 of 26 team cards.
- Averaged 75.76 strokes per round…top finish was tied for 18th in SoCon Men’s Golf Championships…also ended up top 25 in the Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate (T22) and East Bay Deli Classic (T25).
- Six par or better rounds…low card was 70 turned in twice…the first was the second 18 at the Carpet Capital Collegiate while the second happened in the SoCon opening round…148 at Shoal Creek was top 36, while 222 at Tiger Intercollegiate was best 54-hole tally.
- 73 birdies with a high of six over the final 18 at the Tiger Intercollegiate…tourney-best 11 came at Shoal Creek as well as the Tiger.
- 300 pars…14 was top number in first 18 at SoCon…36 at Wolfpack Fall Invite was tournament high.
- Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.


2016-17
- Six tournaments played starting two…three of six team rounds counted.
- Averaged 76.00 strokes per 18…two par or better cards.
- Fourth on the team in par 3 scoring (3.21).
- Best finish was as an individual tying for 11th at the Trevecca Men’s Invite…tied for 22nd at the USA Individual to open the spring.
- Low 18-hole tally was even-par 72 at the Autotrader Collegiate and Furman Intercollegiate.
- Best 54-hole total was 220 (+4) at Autotrader…low 36 also came at Autotrader (148).
- 25 birdies…high of five over final 18 at Autotrader with a tourney-best 11 there as well.
- 127 pars…13 in Autotrader round two was his top number…34 in first career start at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate was his tournament high.
 
SCOTLAND
- 2015 Scottish Boys Champion.
- Member of Scotland’s 2015 Home Internationals championship squad besting England, Ireland and Wales…also represented Scotland in European and World Team Championships.
- 2015 SGU Junior Tour at Longniddry co-winner.
- Transitioned well into men’s events in 2015-16 with his best finishes coming in the 2016 Craigmillar Park Open (T7th), 2015 Scottish Champion of Champions (11th) and 2015 East of Scotland Championship (18th) while making the cut at the Carrick Neill Scottish Open Stroke Play Championship that included professionals.
- Led Glenalmond to 2016 Perth & Kinross Schools’ Championship claiming the individual title as well.
 
PERSONAL
- Born November 14.
- Son of Lochy and Debbie Porter…one older brother, Gordon, with one younger brother, Llew, and sister, Juliet.
- Competed in several sports as a lad including soccer, cricket, hockey, rugby, swimming, badminton and tennis.
- Majoring in Sport Management.
