ABOUT CHATTANOOGA GOLF
GREENSBORO, N.C.---The Chattanooga Mocs finished sixth at the Grandover Collegiate. The Mocs completed their tour of Grandover Resort with a 311 today to end the two-day, 54-hole event with 911.
Oliver Simonsen led today's effort with 3-over 75. He was joined among the counting cards by
Matt Smith and
Will Porter with 78s and
Moritz Lammel's 80.
Connor Nolan had the drop tally of 82.
The individual contingent was paced by
A.J. Lintunen's 76.
Leon Bader and
Dominic Jones each carded 78.
Bader led all Chattanooga golfers tying for seventh with 3-over 219. Lintunen was next up tied for 18th at 225, one ahead of Simonsen's 226 which tied for 20th. Smith joined the trio in the top 25 tying for 22nd with 227. Porter and Jones each recorded 229. Nolan was three behind them with 232, while Lammel ended up at 238.
Host UNCG swept team and medalist wins with Nick Lyerly's 3-under 213 atop the field. The Spartans 876 was nine better than Rutgers in second. Appalachian State was third (891) ahead of Virginia Tech (894) and Penn State (905). The Mocs were sixth followed by VCU (913), Ohio (925), Elon (941), Seton Hall (946) and Villanova (957).
The group ends the fall slate next week on Kiawah Island at the East Bay Deli Classic. The tournament is Nov. 3-5 at Turtle Point. Live scoring is accessible on GoMocs.com on the men's golf schedule page.

3 NOTES TO KNOW
- The course average was 77.00 for the event. The Mocs counting cards managed 75.92 for the 54 holes. The drop score was at 80.33, while the individuals combined for 74.78.
- Bader's tie for seventh is the top finish of his career. It's his second top 10 after tying for 10th in last spring's Roadrunner Classic at the Farm in Dalton. He led the field in birdies with 14 and par 4 scoring (3.90, -3).
- The last time the Mocs had four or more in the top 25? All five in last spring's Southern Conference Championships. In a regular season event? 2017 East Bay Deli Classic (Oct. 29-31) where four ranked: Lake Jonson (3rd), Luke Long (T8), Andrew Weathers (T21) & Will Porter (T25).
