TEAM
- Chattanooga ran away with the 74-56 victory over Alabama State Friday afternoon in the Emerald Coast Classic…the Mocs are now 4-3, while the Hornets fall to 0-6.
- This is the third straight meeting between the two schools at in-season tournament play…3-0 over that stretch…95-58 win over ASU in this event in 2015…last outing was 67-50 margin in Chattanooga in the 2017 Cayman Islands mainland bracket…both previous time led to meetings with tomorrow's championship foe, Jacksonville State…1-1 against the Gamecocks following those wins.
- 105-55 during DI era in in-season tournaments…playing for 37th title…last was 62-52 win over Jacksonville State in the 2015 Emerald Coast Classic.
- Back-to-back games holding opponents to less than 60 points…58 at No. 17 Tennessee on Monday…last time the Mocs relinquished less than 114 combined points to DI Opponents in consecutive games was 105…57 vs. Jacksonville State on Dec. 21 2016 and 48 at Western Carolina on Dec. 31…these are the next two opponents on this year's schedule.
- Chattanooga led for 38:33…it was tied for 1:27…the Hornets never led.
- Limited ASU to 38.5 percent (20-52) from the field and 21.1 percent (4-19) from 3pt range...combined with defensive effort at Tennessee (37.3%/27.8%), opponents are shooting 37.9 percent (39/103) overall and 24.3 percent (9/37) from beyond the arc the last two contests.
- 48-22 lead at the break…most points in the first half this season (41 vs. South Alabama)…fewest allowed (23 vs. South Alabama…largest lead at intermission (18 vs. South Alabama).
- 26-point halftime cushion is the largest since Alabama State in McKenzie Arena…that was a 40-14 tally which ended 67-50 on Nov. 20, 2017.
- +11 rebound margin (40-29)…largest of the season after finishing six better than Tennessee State and South Alabama…fewest rebounds by an opponent…82.9 percent on the defensive boards grabbing 29 of the Hornets 35 misses.

- Was cleared Tuesday by NCAA to participate immediately after transferring in August from Cleveland State University.

- 6-9 from the field, 1-3 at the FT line.

- 11 points, three rebounds and three assists.
- Scored his 600th career point with his first basket of the game…610 now in 71 games (8.6 ppg).
