RESULTS | ABOUT CHATTANOOGA GOLF
 
KIAWAH ISLAND---The Chattanooga Mocs completed the fall schedule with a tie for seventh with Appalachian State at the East Bay Deli Classic. The Mocs turned in 3-under 285 today to complete the 54 holes at Turtle Point Golf Course in 871 (+7).
 
Today's effort was led by matching 70s from Will Porter and Oliver Simonsen. That duo was joined on the counting cards by A.J. Lintunen's even-par 72 and Leon Bader's 73. Matt Smith had the drop tally with 78. Connor Nolan led the individual contingent with 72, while Dominic Jones and Moritz Lammel registered 79 and 80, respectively.
 
Simonsen and Lintunen ended up at level-par 216 which is tied for 24th. Porter and Nolan each turned in 219, one ahead of Bader at 220. Smith finished with 230 in front of Lammel (235) and Jones (236).
 
Five Mocs carded 12 or more birdies over the three days. Simonsen led that effort with 15 followed by Smith with 13 and 12 each for Lintunen, Nolan and Lammel.
 
No. 24 Auburn (833) was a 15-shot winner over runner-up College of Charleston (848). The Tigers Jovan Rebula was the wire-to-wire winner with 13-under 203.
 
The Mocs take a siesta for a couple of months to prepare for the spring opener in early February. They head south Feb. 10-11 for the Mobile Sports Authority Invitational.

3 NOTES TO KNOW

• Five different Mocs combined to turn in eight par or better cards, six coming from starters. That's second only to the seven with all five starters recording one at the Alister Mackenzie Invite. The team had 18 prior to this week for the season.
• Today's 285 is the third-best 18 for the Mocs this season behind 273 and 278 at the Alister Mackenzie.
• Matt Smith was the field's best player on the short holes. He shot a tourney-best 3 under on the par 3s and is now 2 under for the season, a 2.97 average.
