- Chattanooga held on for a 68-64 win at UNC Asheville Saturday afternoon…8-5 for the Mocs so far, 6-5 for the Bulldogs.
- 20-5 in the
Lamont Paris Era when holding opponents to less than 70 points…6-2 this season.
- UTC is 19-3 over the last 22 pre-holiday break contests…2-2 on the road…first win away from the Scenic City heading into the break since 77-60 at SMU on Dec. 19, 1998.
- Fourth time in school history with seven or more DI non-conference wins in the regular season…1987-88 (7-4), 2015-16 (9-2) and 2016-17 (7-4) were the others.
- Chattanooga has won three of the last four and five of seven.
- The victory gives the Mocs a perfect 7-0 mark in the series…first meeting in nearly 22 years…3-0 in Asheville.
- Five of the Mocs 11 Southern Conference Tournament titles, most in the league among current members and one off the all-time record of 12 (Davidson), came in Asheville albeit at the Civic Center,
- -4 in turnover margin (14-10)…Asheville entered the contest No. 2 in the nation at 7.9…14 turnovers are 1.4 more than the season average (12.6) but 6.3 less than the Bulldogs usually force (20.3).
- 90.3 defensive rebound percentage collecting 28 of 31 possible on the day…three offensive boards for Asheville is a season low by an opponent…Mocs average allowing 9.2 off the offensive glass.
