Four Mocs Headed to NCAA Championships

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga wrestling team competes in the 89th NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships on March 21-23, 2019.  Action takes place in the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pa., and is covered live by the ESPN family of networks.

The four representing Chattanooga at the NCAA Championships are senior Alonzo Allen, junior Chris Debien (141), freshman Tyler Smith (149) and junior Rodney Jones (197).  Debien, Smith and Jones earned automatic bids, while Allen was an at-large qualifier.  Debien won the SoCon title at 141, with Smith and Jones advancing by placing second.  This is the second career trip for Allen and Debien and the first for Smith and Jones.
