Mocs Travel to UNCG for Regular Season Finale

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis team travels to UNCG for the regular season finale on Saturday.  First serve is set for Noon (E.D.T.) and a link for live scoring is on the men's tennis schedule page on GoMocs.com.

The Mocs are currently 13-10 overall and 3-3 in the Southern Conference race.  UTC is tied with Wofford for fourth in the league, and teams are using these last matches to battle for positing at next week's SoCon Tournament in Macon, Ga.  ETSU leads at 5-0 (15-4), while Furman is second at 6-1 (14-4).  Mercer currently holds down the No. 3 spot at 3-2 (10-12) and Samford is 2-4 (10-9).

The Spartans are 7-13 overall and 1-3 in SoCon action.

"We are excited to be playing a match with huge implications towards a favorable seed at the SoCon Tourney," stated UTC head coach Chuck Merzbacher.  "Our goal is to extend the season and this match came helps us do that."

The Mocs are 10-13 in the all-time series that started in 1998.  UNCG has won five in a row with Chattanooga's last win coming on March 16, 2013, in Chattanooga.  The last time UTC won in Greensboro was March 12, 2011.

Chattanooga's 13 wins are the most for the program since going 14-9 in 2012. The three SoCon victories are also the most for the Mocs since posting a 6-4 mark in 2013.
