PREVIEW: Mocs Hit National Stage, Ready for NCAA Tournament Play

Chattanooga softball landed the No. 4 seed in the Oxford Regional & will kick off NCAA Tournament play on Friday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN3 against regional-host Ole Miss.

CHATTANOOGA --- Making its 11th appearance in the NCAA Tournament, the Chattanooga Mocs softball team is set for play in the Oxford Regional, hosted by Ole Miss, this weekend in the opening round of post-season play.
 
Chattanooga (37-15) will begin play against the tournament's No. 11 overall seed and regional-host Ole Miss (37-17) Friday evening at 7 p.m. ET. Joining UTC and OM in the region is Louisiana (50-4) and Southeast Missouri State (45-16).
 
The Mocs claimed its 14th Southern Conference Tournament title in program history last Saturday after downing UNCG, 10-1, in the winner-take-all matchup. UTC clinched its 11th berth into the NCAA Tournament following the victory.
 
Ole Miss enters the weekend No. 17 in the latest USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll. The Rebels are coming off an 8-0 loss to No. 23 Kentucky in the SEC Tournament Quarterfinals after advancing past Mississippi State in the opening round.
 
Louisiana, who is No. 7 in this week's national rankings, rides a 27-game win streak and carries a 50-4 overall mark. The Ragin' Cajuns went a perfect 25-0 in Sun Belt action this season. SEMO, the OVC automatic qualifier, is 45-16 on the season while finishing 17-5 in conference action.
