Nolan Named SoCon Golfer of the Week

Junior Connor Nolan earned his first Southern Conference weekly honor with his play for the Chattanooga Mocs in this week’s Graeme McDowell Invitational.

SPARTANBURG, S.C.---Chattanooga Mocs junior Connor Nolan is this week's Southern Conference Men's Golfer of the Week. It's the first such honor of his career, and the first for a Moc since Lake Johnson in March 2018.
Nolan finished tied for 17th at the Graeme McDowell Invitational at Greystone Golf and Country Club in Birmingham, Ala. He turned in three consistent cards of 73, 71 and 72.
The even-par 216 total marks his second career par or better finish behind 1-under 215 last April at the Old Waverly Collegiate. It's his fifth career top 20 (15 events), third in seven team starts.
The Corona, Calif., native had a finish percentage of 81.0 in the large 100-player field. He beat all 14 SoCon golfers in the field by an average of a little less than 12 strokes per man (11.86). His 13 birdies were one shy of his collegiate career tournament high of 14 at last fall's Grandover Collegiate.
Next up is a trip to the west coast. The Mocs take on the field at Cal's Alister Mackenzie Invitational Oct. 7-8 at the Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif.
