CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- Freshman
Dena Jarrells waited patiently in the corner for the pass from
Lakelyn Bouldin. With her feet set, she drained a 3-pointer to give the Chattanooga women's basketball team its largest lead of the game to that point, 56-52, with 37 seconds to play.
"So, our freshman is no longer a freshman," Chattanooga head coach
Katie Burrows said. "She has ice in her veins. What a great job of being patient."
With the ball up top,
Lakelyn Bouldin called for
Abbey Cornelius to set the screen. Jarrells drifted into the corner and Bouldin started her way, drawing the defender. A quick pass to the freshman and a quicker release ripped the nets for the four-point lead.
"As soon as it left her hands, I knew it was going in," Senior Nakeia Burks said. "She's confident and her feet were set in the corner. When she's got her feet set, she can knock them down, so I knew she was going to make that."
The Mocs (4-14) went on to add four more points, capping off a 13-0 run to close out the game, and grabbed their third Southern Conference win to improve to 3-1 in league play, beating Furman 60-52 at the McKenzie Arena Saturday afternoon.

On the Furman end of the court,
