Chattanooga Basketball Postgame Quotes
Chattanooga at ETSU

Lamont Paris, Head Coach
Overall statement after loss at ETSU.
"It could be anything. Give credit to it, but we put ourselves in that position. I think it was a nine point game with the ball, and I think they went down and hit a three and, ultimately, we went down in the guy's mind. We got more aggressive and played more fluidly, but they had more shots than we did. It was easier for them to win."
On trying to come back from deficit after cutting it close.Â
"If you're looking at that, and you don't think that's a good deal, you're in the wrong profession. A lot can happen in that time, especially with that. You can go up nine or down nine, I've seen it. A lot can happen in that time. They were a team that was up 27, it's hard to play there. We got where it was a manageable deal, but the rim becomes a little smaller, and you become more tentative. We got it to where it was manageable, but not ideal."
On building too large of a hole.
"At that point, you need everything to go your way. Some normal things, of the flip of the coin, do or don't go your way, didn't go out way. Because of that and because of the deficit that we built, we needed everything to go our way."
A.J. Caldwell, R-So.-G
On defending ETSU.
"They're all long and tough and do some unique things on defense. We had a little bit of a learning curve with how they play. The way they defend and they rotate is tough to play against. I think we had 17 or 18 turnovers and didn't shoot the ball great."
Â
On keeping them off the glass.
"That was one of the biggest emphases coming in. To keep them off the offensive glass, and I think we did a good job. Sometimes it happens but I think we're happy, for us to do well on the glass is a positive the next time we play these guys."
Â
On the confidence moving forward.
"We feel like we can hang with anyone in the league. Last year, it was a similar situation. We feel like we improved and can hang with anyone in the league. We're just trying to build on that and keep it rolling."
