CHATTANOOGA --- For the first time since 2009, the Chattanooga Mocs softball team opens a fresh season on its home turf at Jim Frost Stadium. Chattanooga welcomes in-state foe Austin Peay for a Sunday afternoon doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. with both games available for stream LIVE on the SoCon Digital Network.

Coming off a Southern Conference title and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2019, Chattanooga was tabbed the league favorites in 2020 after the preseason poll was released last week. UTC boasts seven seniors including SoCon Preseason Player of the Year
Aly Walker and Preseason Pitcher of the Year
Celie Hudson.

PROMOTIONS
Sunday's doubleheader features 'Defrost Frost' and 'National Pizza Day' promotions. Fans can enter a blanket giveaway when entering the gates on Sunday with winners drawn every ½ inning. In addition, $1 hot chocolates will be sold at concessions throughout the day. The first 100 fans will also receive free pizza slices, courtesy of Papa John's.

ABOUT THE SERIES | NOTES
· Chattanooga leads the all-time series over Austin Peay, 8-1. The Govs won the last meeting, 1-0, on April 4, 2018 inside Jim Frost Stadium. UTC was picked first in the preseason SoCon poll while Austin Peay was predicted to finish fifth in a strong Ohio Valley Conference (OVC).

· Chattanooga opens at home for the first time since 2009 and just the fifth time in program history, dating back to 1994. UTC won three out of the four season-opening games at home.
