Postgame Quotes
Â
Head coach Lamont Paris
Opening statement
"I thought the guys battled extremely hard throughout the game. I did not think we played well in the first half, and we did a good job just to stay where we were at halftime. We thought we could regroup and compete hard in the second half and play better basketball. I tip my hat off to our guys. I thought they did a really good job at some of the little things and competing and being very aggressive against a very good team. I can't be happier for our guys and prouder for our guys with the way they competed, and I thought that was the biggest difference in the game."

On advancing to the semifinals
"You are only guaranteed 40 minutes, and we earned 40 more minutes. The biggest thing for us tomorrow is that it is 75 percent us and 25 percent who we are playing. We do not change 1,000 things when we play. We will work the hardest on us doing the things we need to do: blocking out, rebounding, defending at the level we need to. We will do that in the framework of what we need to do in order to have success against Wofford. But the bulk of it will be us and getting our product as good as it can possibly be because if we do that, and we compete at a high level, then the rest normally takes care of itself."

Chattanooga senior guard/forward Jonathan Scott
On his development throughout the year
"All year I struggled to find a role, but in these last couple of games I have found what I am good at and what does best for the team. And that is competing and getting [my teammates] going and providing energy. That is what I did today."
Â
Chattanooga redshirt junior guard David Jean-Baptiste
On the team's play
"For us as a team, we were competing to the end. We were finishing plays and finishing possessions. We just need to keep playing hard and keep being aggressive."
Â
Chattanooga junior forward Ramon Vila
On his play
"Some teams double-team me a lot, and I am not a selfish teammate, so I kick it out and my teammates make 3s. That is a decision the other team has to make. So if they do not want to double-team me, they have to stop me one-on-one in the post. And if they double-team me, we have excellent shooters."

UNCG Spartans
Head coach Wes Miller
Opening statement
"Just want to tip my cap to Chattanooga and Lamont's team. They're playing really good basketball and we saw that in the last week and the last two games. I thought we did some nice things in the first half. I thought we were really good on the boards. We got our tails kicked in the second half. We lose the second half 43-26 and they outrebound us and outplayed us in a lot of ways. I don't think it was for lack of effort. I have the greatest group of guys. I'm really fortunate that I've been able to coach this group. It's been a phenomenal season with a phenomenal group. They were phenomenal. You look at the stat sheet and get outrebounded 40-31, it's something we pride ourselves on and we knew Vila would have a decent night. We were going to live with playing him one-on-one in the post and we knew he might make some, miss some, but we would live with him getting 20-plus. But the six offensive rebounds were significant.
David Jean-Baptiste was 8-for-10, he was phenomenal. He kept driving us. He made some really tough plays around the rim and we thought we could take advantage of using our length and athleticism and that's something he did tonight. He made a huge 3 there at the end. We had a chance. I thought our guys really clawed back into it and gave us a chance making some great plays and then we give up two straight uncontested layups, we give up the 3 and we worked on trying to sustain defensive effort. I thought we were a little worn down and tired there on those possessions. We worked at it all week. So obviously we were a little frustrated in the second half, frustrated that we didn't get these guys to the NCAA tournament."
Â
Junior guard Isaiah Miller
On the second-half shots
"With that, we just try to execute. We try to get the best shot that we can get. Sometimes your shot clock interrupts that so we try and take what we can get. Our players are great and talented and they can do that stuff individually."
Â
Senior forward James Dickey
On tonight's Loss
"I can't even describe it at the moment. I pride myself on winning. This program prides itself on winning, so every loss hurts. But this one will hurt for a long time."
