ABOUT CHATTANOOGA BASKETBALL
Â
CHATTANOOGA---Chattanooga Mocs Men's Basketball Coach Lamont Paris earned his first head coaching honor. He was named to the Achieving Coaching Excellence College Basketball Honor Roll Monday afternoon.
Â
His Mocs claimed their 25th 20-win campaign with a 20-13 record. It was a strong step forward for the program. Matt Ryan (2nd) and Ramon Vila (3rd) made the All-Southern Conference squad as the team had the largest wins improvement (8) since the 1997 NCAA Sweet 16 team's nine.
Â
We just finished summarizing the 2019-20 season's historical touches. It was a 4-part series starting with how the squad made its mark in the history books followed by a look at the top scoring trio of Ryan, Vila and David Jean-Baptiste. The third looked into the rare occurrence Ryan accomplished before an overall look at the growth of the program in Paris' three seasons.
Â
Paris was joined on the list by ACE's Head of the Class Coach Leonard Hamilton (Florida State) among others. It's the inaugural class of coaches by the organization.
