Williams Garners Second SoCon Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga's Eboni Williams has been named the Southern Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week presented by GEICO for games played Dec. 29 to Jan. 4 after scoring a double-double in Chattanooga's lone contest of the week, a 77-64 win at North Alabama on Dec. 29. The award, the second consecutive for Williams, is selected by the league office.

Williams, a junior, led the Mocs in the win over the Lions, scoring a team-high 17 points and pulling down a game-high 12 rebounds in Chattanooga's nonconference finale. The preseason all-conference selection and native of Hoover, Alabama, tallied three steals, tying a season high, and added two assists in 29 minutes of action.

Chattanooga (5-4) opens conference play on Jan. 9, hosting ETSU in McKenzie Arena for a 2 p.m. contest.

Also nominated: Mykia Dowdell (ETSU), Tierra Hodges (Furman), Jaron Dougherty (Mercer), Khalis Khan (UNCG), Katie Allen (Samford) and Lilly Hatton (Wofford).
