JOHNSON CITY – The Chattanooga Mocs' indoor volleyball team fell to the ETSU Buccaneers in Brooks Gym on Tuesday evening 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-20) in Johnson City.

ETSU began the match winning the first 10 points. UTC used a 3-0 run with a
Gylian Finch kill, a
Marcelle Baez-Carlo ace and a Buc attack error to begin a battle back. A kill from
Chloe Bryan brought the Mocs within five, down 20-15 and forced the Bucs to call their first timeout. The Mocs outscored the Bucs 19-15 in the final half of the set, but the hosts were able to take the opening frame. Finch led the match with five kills in the first frame.
The Bucs held a 5-3 lead early in the second set. An ETSU kill and three straight aces gave the hosts a 9-3 lead as the Mocs called their first timeout. The Mocs battled back with a 5-1 run consisting of three blocks. Like they were in the first set, UTC found themselves down 20-15 in the second. The Mocs
concluded the set on a 4-1 run, but ETSU's point in the run gave them a 2-0 lead in the match.
The Mocs took their first lead of the match in the third set and held an early 5-2 advantage with two kills early in the frame. ETSU tied the set at nine with their fourth block of the evening. The hosts took its first lead of the set on the next three points after a 4-0 run. At the media timeout, the Bucs held a two-point 15-13 lead. Finch stepped behind the service line and brought the Mocs within one, but an attack error gave ETSU a 20-18 lead. The hosts won five of the next seven points to take the match.
Paige Gallentine continued her success in the back row with 25 digs, leading the match.
Finch and Rackel both recorded double-digit digs, led by Finch with 11. She capped off a double-double with 12 digs. Rackel led the team with four blocks.
Notes
- With her second kill of the match, Finch surpassed 900 in her career.
- Gallentine posted 25+ digs for the fifth time this season.

ETSU leads the all-time series 41-32 and has won the last 10 matches over the Mocs.
