Samford claimed its eighth consecutive SoCon regular season title last weekend while the Mocs are still jockeying for position among the league.

MOCS THIRD IN LEAGUE WITH SHUTOUTS
The Mocs are tied for third in the Southern Conference, one behind The Citadel and Western Carolina, for shutouts with seven. UTC is tied with Samford.
Abbey Saddler has five on her own and combined for the remaining two.

IN EXTRA TIME
The Mocs have gone to overtime four times so far this season. After falling to Belmont 2-1 with 12 seconds remaining in double OT, Chattanooga rebounded and beat Tennessee Tech in the next match 1-0 in the first overtime period. Against Morehead State in the non-conference finale and UNCG in the SoCon-opener, the Mocs have played both to a scoreless draw in double-overtime.

MOCS OPPONENTS IN THE RANKINGS
In the preseason, the Mocs took on 18th-ranked Vanderbilt, falling 2-0 to the Commodores. In the regular season, UTC has two SEC opponents on the slate and both are ranked in the United Soccer Coaches Association Poll. Auburn, ranked 11th, beat the Mocs 3-0 on its home turf. On Sept. 12, UTC will welcome No. 19 Tennessee to the Scenic City.

THIRD SEASON AT HOME
This marks the third season the Mocs soccer team will call the UTC Sports Complex home. The complex, located next to historic Engel Stadium, former home of the Chattanooga Lookouts professional baseball team, houses three soccer fields, a clubhouse and a sand volleyball court that serves as home to the Mocs Beach Volleyball team founded in 2019.

SHAW LEADS MOCS IN SCORING
Samantha Shaw has scored four of Chattanooga's goals this season. That is a season-best for the senior. Her first three goals were scored on just three shots.

SADDLER IN THE NET
Abbey Saddler recorded three straight shutouts this season and added back-to-back no-nos against Wofford and ETSU. She made a career-best 11 saves in the SoCon-opener against UNCG and at The Citadel. She has three double-digit saves games that includes 10 at Mercer. Her five shutouts is fifth best for a UTC player in a season and she is fourth all-time with 11.

SHAW NAMED SOCON OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE MONTH - AUGUST
Samantha Shaw scored all three goals for the Mocs in August, using just three shots to do so. She recorded the game-winner in a 1-0 win over UAB in the season opener on Aug. 19 and netted the Mocs' lone goal in a 2-1 setback at Belmont on Aug. 27. She scored the game-winner and Golden Goal in a 1-0 overtime win at Tennessee Tech on the 29th.

The Mocs freshmen have been featured in the lineup. UTC freshmen
Kelly Tuerff has started 13 games this season.
Sofia Andrade started the first nine matches before illness kept her out of the SoCon opener.

Grace Klippenstein, in her third season, scored the game winner against Wofford at the UTC Sports Complex. It was her first collegiate goal for the midfielder.
