Opening statement after win over UNCA.
"The game speaks for itself regarding the defensive side of the ball. If you are going to do that defensively, then we might have a chance to beat the Lakers. We didn't shoot great but I can't say enough for what we did defensively. If we didn't allow those buckets at the end of the first half, we would've kept them in the teens. If you can do that in an NCAA game, you're doing something right."

On the team's chemistry.
"Every non-basketball way, they have been getting along very well. On the court, they have played really well together, but there are so many guys that I feel like can be on the court and perform, but we still have some that haven't seen the court together."

On Darius Banks' production.
"The biggest impact he has is his energy and the way he goes to the boards. He is a strong dude. His aggression as an offensive player made him more emotional in a positive way. I think he feels comfortable and he has a good feel for my faith and my belief in him. That does wonders with your confidence if you have faith and belief from your head coach."

On the depth of the team.
"That's the key to this game at any level. The higher the level that you are at, the more in-depth scouting reports go. Having multiple guys that are capable of having a really good offensive day is a luxury for us. We have three different guys that can score 20, and then we have another three that are capable of scoring 20 on another day. I let guys do what they are able to do, and it shows. We had guys being aggressive, being comfortable and ultimately being productive."

On how the team is gelling together.
"That's just leadership from all levels of the floor. Anyone can tell you what to do and you don't take it to heart or anything."

On how fun it is to be around the team.
"It's really fun. We take pride in our defense. We held them to 45 points and got 49 total rebounds. That's a big thing we focus on, defensive rebounds.

On the team's defense.
"We go at it every single day on defense. It's always good to go against someone else to see what you're capable off. Holding someone to 45 in college basketball is hard to do."
