TEAM
- The Chattanooga Mocs completed a season sweep of rival ETSU with a 53-51 win over the Bucs in McKenzie Arena tonight.  ETSU missed a three at the buzzer to win, moving the Mocs to 16-5 overall and 8-5 in SoCon action. 

- First regular-season sweep of ETSU since 2016.

- Trailing by three with four seconds left, ETSU's Silas Adheke got an offensive rebound off a Ledarrius Brewer missed FT … kicked out to Damari Monsanto who hit a would-be, go-ahead three, but ETSU called timeout and the basket did not count.

- Junior A.J. Caldwell led the Mocs with 11 points, while junior KC Hankton and sophomore Malachi Smith added 10 each.  ETSU falls to 12-9 overall and 8-5 in league play.

- Fifth-straight win … most SoCon wins in a row since nine-straight Jan. 11 -Feb. 8, 2016.

- 13-4 in single-digit margin games, 7-0 when decided by three or less.

- Mocs opened the game shooting 9-14 from the field and 5-8 three to build a 27-18 lead with 4:18 left in the half … finished the frame 1-10 from the field and 0-3 from three, while ETSU closed the half on a 7-2 run … Mocs led 29-25 at the break.   

- Third wire-to-wire win of the season (Lander 11/25, at Wofford 2/10).

- 14-0 this season & 29-4 over last two when holding opponents below 70 points.

- Seven of the eight Mocs who played scored.

- Fewest points for the Mocs this season.

- ETSU's 51 points are the fewest allowed by UTC this season.

- Mocs shot 16-46 (34.8%) from the field, 8-27 (29.6%) from three and 13-16 (81.3%) from the FT line … second-most threes taken this season (36 at Bellarmine 12/9) … fewest FGs made and attempted overall … second-lowest FG% (20-65 (30.8%) at Tennessee Tech on 11/30).

- UTC came into the game No. 17 in the NCAA in FT% at 78.0%. 

- Fewest points in a win since a 51-48 victory against Wofford on Jan. 12, 2012.

- ETSU dominated the paint, outscoring the Mocs inside 26-14 … UTC made up for it with eight threes, compared to the Bucs' two. 

- Mocs had 12 assists on their 16 baskets … ETSU had six on 18 FGs.

- A.J. Caldwell's three-pointer at the 12:30 mark gave UTC a 45-36 lead … it was the Mocs last FG of the game … UTC was 0-10 from the field, 0-9 from three and 8-10 from the FT line with six turnovers in the final 12:30 of play.

SERIES NOTES
- 93rd meeting.
- 49-44 all-time.
- 26-12 at home.
- 35-25 in the SoCon regular season.
- 2-8 under Lamont Paris.
- ETSU had won 10-straight in the series before the Mocs' win on Feb. 6.
- First win at home for the Mocs since a 94-84 victory on Jan. 16, 2016.

INDIVIDUAL
A.J. Caldwell – Jr.-G
- Team-high 11 points on 4-8 shooting, 3-6 from three.
- Sixth game in double-figures this season … first since scoring 10 at Samford on Jan. 20. 
- First time this season leading the team in scoring … second career.
- Added five boards, an assist and steal in 31 minutes.

KC Hankton – Jr.-F
- 10 points on 4-7 shooting, 2-5 from three.
- Eight in the first half.
- Added seven rebounds.
- Fifth game in double-figures this season.

David Jean-Baptiste – Sr.-G
- Career-high three blocks in the game … had one this year entering the game … previous high for a season was three as a freshman in 2017-18 … most blocks by a Moc this season … most since Ramon Vila had three against UNCG (02/29/20).
- Scored six points on 2-9 shooting, 2-7 from three.

Malachi Smith – So.-G
- 10 points and a team-high eight boards.
- Tied for team-high with three assists.
- Shot 4-8 from the field, 2-2 from the FT line.
- 18th game leading the team in rebounds this season.
- 20th game in double-figures scoring.
