ABOUT CHATTANOOGA GOLF
CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs take to the course this weekend at the Linger Longer Invitational on the Great Waters Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee in Eatonton, Ga. It's the third spring event with the Mocs looking to complete what they start.
Chattanooga has situated itself in the running each of the first two events. The team average is 291.3 over the opening 36 holes but raises to 303.5 over the final 18. It's provided a good learning experience as the team continues to develop for a postseason run in April.
Three Mocs qualified for the lineup based on their play last week at the Sea Palms Invite led by
A.J. Lintunen. Lintunen captured the win there becoming the fourth Moc to win multiple titles in a campaign joining Stephan Jaeger '12 (3-2012), Jonathan Hodge '09 (3-2008) & Bryce Ledford '07 (2-2005).
Connor Nolan and
Paul Conroy joined him in the top 10 tying for third and sixth, respectively. Both Nolan and Conroy have top 10s in two of the last three events as the Mocs trend upwards.
The final two starting spots were earned by
Oliver Simonsen and
Matt Smith. The duo beat out the rest of the field over 36 holes at Chattanooga Golf & Country Club and Black Creek Club earlier this week to form the quint to tackle Great Waters and the quality field that awaits.
The three-day, 54-hole event starts with Friday with 18 holes per day culminating in a final 18 Sunday. Click the scoring link above to follow scores and access pairings when available.
