Chattanooga Mocs
Head coach Lamont Paris
"A tough loss, obviously. It always hurts to lose in the conference tournament."
Â
"We gave them some shots at the rim late in the game, and we didn't play well offensively at the end."
Â
On having just eight players available due to COVID-related issues, among the missing leading scorer Malachi Smith and fellow starter Darius Banks.
"We were short-handed, missing some guys in our rotation, and that made it tough. When you lose at a moment's notice two guys who play 30-plus minutes a game, you have to change things on the fly. That reared its ugly head in a lot of ways tonight."

ETSU Bucs
Head coach Jason Shay
"Overall, a good opening game for us. Chattanooga got off to a good start, but we were able to hang in there and overcome starting 1-of-10 (from the field)."
Â
"Our shot selection was not great at the start, but we didn't panic, stayed the course and finally got some shots to drop."
Â
"I liked our game plan. We had a week to prepare and put in a zone I don't think they were ready for."
Â
On Damari Monsanto, who scored 18 points and had 10 rebounds
"He got some good looks and got to the foul line. He had a very efficient game, 18 points on nine shots, and he got on the boards."
