The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis team scored its third-straight win with a 6-1 victory at Austin Peay today.  UTC improved to 3-5 overall, while the Governors dropped to 0-6.

"This was a solid road win after a strenuous weekend," stated UTC head coach Chuck Merzbacher.  "Everyone rolled up their sleeves and got to work. I thought in some spots Austin Peay really played tough, but we hung in there. It was definitely a well-needed match before we open up SoCon play on Sunday."

UTC swept all three doubles matches, beginning with junior Tomas Rodriguez and freshman Peyton Gatti's 6-2 win over Anton Damberg and Frederi Schlossman at No. 1.  Senior Turner Voges and sophomore Simon Labbe (UTC) followed with a 6-4 win over Oliver Andersson and Jacob Lorino at No. 2.  Sophomore Kerim Hyatt and freshman Jeffrey Dewald closed out doubles with a 7-6 (3) win at No. 3 over Christian Edison and Gabriel Nolasco Pozo.

Labbe was first off in singles with a (6-1, 6-0) win over Lorino at No. 5.  Rodriguez won his fourth in a row with a (6-0, 6-2) win over Edison at No. 1. Gatti clinched the win with his third victory in a row, a (6-1, 6-2) win over Nolasco Pozo at No. 2. 

APSU got on the board with a win at No. 2, but Hyatt responded with his fourth-straight win at No. 3.  He defeated Anderson (6-2, 6-4).  Dewald closed out the day with the only three-set match.  He defeated Damberg [5-7, 6-1, 1-0 (9)]. 

Up next for the Mocs is a trip to Charleston, S.C., to take on The Citadel on Sunday, March 14.  Match time is set for 10:00 a.m. (E.D.T.).
