Ashton Shields was selected the Southern Conference women's soccer Defensive Player of the Week the league office announced today.

Shields played all 90 minutes in goal for the Mocs in a 0-0 double-overtime draw against league favorite Samford last week. She had six saves including one late in the match that she pushed over the top of the goal.

The Arlington, Tenn., junior currently leads the Southern Conference in goals against average (0.00) and saves percentage (1.000). She recorded her 13
th career shutout in the win and has an all-time goals-against average of 0.85.

The Mocs host ETSU Friday at 4:00 p.m. and Western Carolina Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Both games will be aired live on ESPN+ with live stats available at GoMocs.com.
