Soccer Signs Five on National Signing Day

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga Mocs women's soccer program announced the signing of five talented student-athletes on National Signing Day, adding championship experience, leadership, and versatility to the roster. The 2025 class includes Emily Betterton and Zoe Misenhimer from Baylor School, along with Mackenzie Brown, Molly Johnson, and Lilly Filler from Hendersonville High School. Together, this group brings multiple state titles, all-state honors, and elite club credentials to the Scenic City as the Mocs look to build on their success in the Southern Conference.
 

Emily Betterton | Forward | Ringgold, Ga. | Baylor School
Betterton joins Chattanooga after a decorated career at Baylor School, where she helped lead the Red Raiders to three Division II-AA TSSAA State Championships. She earned TSWA All-State honors, was a two-time All-East Region selection, and served as team captain in 2025. At the club level, Betterton competed for the Chattanooga Red Wolves 2008 team and the Chattanooga Lady Red Wolves semi-pro squad, winning two Tennessee Division I State Cups and reaching the USYS National Championship semifinals twice. She was named to the USYS All-Tournament Team twice and earned a spot on the 2024 National Championship Best XI. Off the field, she excelled academically as a member of the National Honor Society.

 

Zoe Misenhimer | Midfielder | Knoxville, Tenn. | Baylor School
Misenhimer arrives at UTC after helping Baylor capture three consecutive Division II-AA State Championships (2023–2025). She was named Division II-AA TSSAA MVP in 2024, earned TSWA All-State honors, and was a three-time All-East Region selection. Zoe also played for the Chattanooga Red Wolves SC, where she won two Tennessee State Cups, a Southern Regional Championship, and reached the USYS National Championship semifinals twice. She was named to the State Cup All-Tournament First Team three times and served as club captain. Academically, Zoe maintained a 4.3 GPA, earned Aiken Scholar honors, and is a member of the National Honor Society.

 

Mackenzie Brown | Defender | Hendersonville, Tenn. | Hendersonville HS
Brown brings defensive strength and leadership to the Mocs after an outstanding career at Hendersonville High School. She was a three-time District 12AAA Overall MVP (2023–2025) and earned Sumner County Defensive Player of the Year (2023) and Overall MVP (2024). Mackenzie was selected to the THSSCA DIAAA All-State Team (2022–2024) and earned Tennessean All-Midstate First Team honors in 2023 and 2024. She helped Hendersonville capture District and Region titles in 2023, 2024, and 2025. At the club level, Brown played for Tennessee United Soccer Club, reaching the TSSA Final Four and earning All-Tournament honors. She also competed in basketball, track, and flag football, showcasing her athletic versatility.

 

Molly Johnson | Forward | Hendersonville, Tenn. | Hendersonville HS
Johnson was a prolific scorer for Hendersonville High School, earning All-District honors (2022–2025) and Offensive MVP three times (2023–2025). She also collected the Coaches Award (2024) and was named to the All-Tournament Team (2022–2025) and All-Sumner County First Team (2022–2024). Molly earned TSSAA Division I AAA All-State honors (2023–2024) and helped lead Hendersonville to multiple District and Region championships. At the club level, she played for Tennessee United Soccer Club (ECNL), earning All-Conference Selection Game honors and a spot on the State Cup All-Tournament Team. Academically, Molly is an AP Scholar with a 4.0 GPA and active in National Honor Society, Beta Club, HOSA, DECA, FCCLA, and Student Council.

 

Lilly Filler | Midfielder | Hendersonville, Tenn. | Hendersonville HS
Filler was a key contributor for Hendersonville High School, earning recognition in the 2025 All-Star Tennessee Game and being named to the All-District and All-Tournament Teams. She helped lead the Commandos to District and Region championships in 2025. At the club level, Lilly played for Tennessee United Soccer Club (ECNL-RL), gaining experience at the elite level. She is also active in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and plans to major in Exercise Science.
