Richvalsky Named to SoCon All-Tournament; Season Recap

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- Chattanooga senior forward Caroline Richvalsky was named to the Southern Conference All-Tournament Team, the league announced.
 
Richvalsky led a Mocs offense that outshot Furman 18-4 with a 7-4 shots on goals advantage. She fired off four of UTC's shots and had three on frame.
 
The Mocs fell 2-1 to Furman in overtime in the quarterfinal round of the SoCon Tournament in Birmingham, Ala. Paige Thomas scored the game's first goal in the 84th minute, but the Paladins struck back just over two minutes later to force extra time. Furman scored the Golden Goal in the first overtime to advance to the semifinal.
 
 
Season Overview
The Chattanooga Mocs wrapped up an impressive 2025 campaign with a 10-5-4 overall record (4-2-3 SoCon), finishing 4th in the Southern Conference standings. Their 10 wins tied for the second-most in program history, marking only the fifth time UTC has hit double-digit victories. The team scored 37 goals, tied for the most in the SoCon alongside Furman and Samford, and posted seven shutouts, showcasing a balanced attack and strong defensive play.
 
A highlight of the season came in the regular-season finale, where Chattanooga stunned No. 2 Western Carolina with a 1-0 road win. Senior Caroline Richvalsky netted the game-winner in the 66th minute, while goalkeeper Caroline Ekern secured her seventh shutout of the year.

Postseason
  • Awards
    • Quinn Johnson was named the SoCon Freshman of the Year. She scored five goals, all against SoCon foes, and dished out two assists for 12 points. She was third on the team in scoring and had two game winners.
    • Caroline Richvalsky was named to the All-SoCon First Team. She led the Mocs in scoring and was a consistent offensive threat throughout the season, finishing with nine goals and eight assists. She recorded a brace earlier this season against Mercer and tallied the game winners against North Alabama and the season-finale at Western Carolina.
    • Clarissa Salinas was named to the Second Team All-Conference, showcasing her leadership and versatility in the midfield. She drove home a pair penalty kicks this season on three tries. She is tied for fourth on the team in scoring with three goals and two assists and notched the game winner in UTC's shutout victory against Morehead State.
    • Brenna Swiger had a standout season anchoring the midfield and back line for the Mocs. A graduate transfer from Cumberland University, Swiger started every match for Chattanooga in 2025, logging over 1,600 minutes and helping the Mocs to 10 wins and a fourth-place finish in the SoCon standings. She played a pivotal role in a defense that recorded seven shutouts and allowed just 22 goals all season.
    • Reese Wilson anchored a Mocs defense that allowed 22 goals, fourth fewest in program history and allowed just 155 shots with 62 on goal. The Knoxville, Tenn., native helped Chattanooga to back-to-back victories with goals against Belmont and Wofford.
 
  • Tournament
    • Chattanooga entered the SoCon Tournament as the No. 4 seed, facing Furman after a regular-season draw. While the Mocs fell short of a championship run, their strong finish and record-setting performances set a high bar for 2026.
