CHATTANOOGA --- After nearly a month off the sand, the Chattanooga Mocs beach volleyball program gets set for its debut in the Ohio Valley Conference this weekend with four matches in Jacksonville, Alabama as part of the inaugural "OVC Weekend" at Jacksonville State.
 
As part of the conference schedule format this season, league members will meet at a host site to play four matches over the weekend. Next week's OVC Weekend will be held in Richmond, Ky., at EKU.
 
Chattanooga will face Morehead State (2 p.m.) and Austin Peay (8 p.m.) on Saturday before wrapping up on Sunday against UT Martin (1 p.m.) and EKU (5 p.m.). The competition marks the first OVC beach volleyball play in history.
 
"We're excited to compete against fellow OVC programs for the first time and really kick off our conference schedule in an exciting format," said head coach Darin Van Horn.
 
Chattanooga (1-6, 0-0 OVC) is coming off its first ever win as a program back on March 24 following a doubleheader split against Carson-Newman. UTC earned a clean 5-0 sweep in the first match before dropping a tight 3-2 decision in the nightcap.
 
Senior Baylee Young and freshman Jordan Krege earned a pair of wins as the No. 1 duo against the Eagles and have won its last four matchups in the top spot following a pair of victories against North Alabama's top duo on March 19.
