CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs softball program looks to build off its midweek upset win over Auburn with a crucial three-game Southern Conference series against Furman on Saturday and Sunday in Greenville S.C.

Originally a doubleheader, Saturday will be a single game beginning at 6:00 p.m. ET due to forecasted inclement weather. Sunday's series finale doubleheader kicks off at 1:00 p.m. ET. All three games will broadcast LIVE on ESPN+.

Chattanooga (10-21, 5-6 SoCon) earned a 1-0 win over SEC-member Auburn on Wednesday to snap a five-game skid, earning its first win over an SEC program since 2015. The Mocs have dropped their last five conference games and currently sits in fourth place in the league standings. The top four teams advance to the SoCon Tournament this season due to COVID scheduling.

Furman (15-22, 6-3 SoCon) is coming off a key SoCon three-game sweep against ETSU last weekend, allowing the Paladins to jump into a tie of second place in the league standings. Redshirt-sophomore Mackense Greico leads the Paladins' offense hitting .327 with seven homers and 25 runs batted in, while junior Emily Bartlett has batted with four homers and 11 RBI.

ABOUT CHATTANOOGA
∙ Chattanooga comes into the weekend following an upset win over Auburn, 1-0, on Wednesday. Auburn entered the day No. 11 in the latest NCAA Softball RPI rankings and were the top vote receiver in both major top 25 polls. It marked the first SEC win for the program since a 7-3 win over Arkansas on Feb. 15, 2015.

∙ Furman enters the weekend at 15-22 overall and tied for second in the SoCon standings, along with UNCG (22-14, 6-3 SoCon), with a 6-3 league mark. Western Carolina leads the league with a 9-2 SoCon mark. The Paladins swept ETSU last weekend to climb in the SoCon standings.

Brooke Parrott tossed a complete game, two-hit shutout in Wednesday's win over Auburn. The CG shutout was the first for her this season and first of her career and marked just the fourth shutout of an SEC opponent in program history and the first since 2004.

∙ Chattanooga and Furman have met 100 times in the series' history with Chattanooga holding a 76-24 (.760) advantage. The Mocs have won six of the last eight matchups against the Paladins including a win in its last meeting, a 9-5 tally in the 2019 SoCon Tournament.
