Chattanooga Student-Athletes Prominent in SoCon Honor Roll

Trumpeting the Mocs academic success.

A total of 205 Chattanooga Mocs earned a place on the Southern Conference Honor Roll in 2020-21.

CHATTANOOGA---The Southern Conference continued its academic award announcements Thursday with the release of the SoCon Honor Roll members for 2020-21. The Chattanooga Mocs added to the 90 Academic All-Conference winners yesterday with a school record 216 attaining Honor Roll status.

In addition, 69 of the 216 Honor Rollers earned the Commissioner's Medal. That requires a minimum 3.8 GPA for the academic year. There were just two fewer this year than the record 71 a year ago.

  • Basketball (women): Audrey Canter, Abbey Cornelius, Sigrun Olafsdottir, Pare Pene, Liz Wood
  • Cross Country (men): Jonathan Boyd, Jacob Etheridge, Eric Mitchell
  • Cross Country/Track & Field (women): Imani Bryant, Nicole Buehrle, Carley Burt, Emmy Davis, Ashtyn Hagood, Makenzie Jones, Julianna McReynolds, Ashlynd Miller, Sophia Neglia, Rebecca Pass, Allie Potter, Brooke Rieves, Emma Rossum, Madelyn Thompson, McKenzie Williamson

Of the 67 Commissioner's Medal awardees were 30 4.0 campaigns. That's just four shy of the record 34 set in 2019-20.

  • Basketball (women): 11 on the SoCon Honor Roll ties a program record set in 2014 and 2016. Five earning the Commissioner's Medal ties marks set in 2015 and 2020.
  • Cross Country/Track & Field (women): Seven with a 4.0 tied a program record for the fourth time.
  • Football: 49 on the SoCon Honor Roll is second to the 52 that made it last year. Three with a 4.0 GPA ties a record set in 2019.
  • Golf (men): Nine on the SoCon Honor Roll is a program record.
  • Softball: 23 on the SoCon Honor Roll is a program record.
  • Tennis (men): 10 on the SoCon Honor Roll is a program record. Seven earning the Commissioner's Medal is a program record. Three with a 4.0 GPA ties a record set in 2020.
  • Tennis (women): Nine on the SoCon Honor Roll is a program record.
  • Volleyball: 19 on the SoCon Honor Roll is a program record.
