Soccer Countdown - 16 Days with Julia Perrusquia

As we countdown to the Mocs' season opener against UAB on 19 at the UTC Sports Complex, we're getting to know who to watch this season.

While Julia Perrusquia has no special reason for choosing the number 16, she still feels lucky to have gotten it. "I actually have this weird preference for even numbers."

After starting soccer at the age of three, she feels the sport stands out for her because it has always been a huge part of her life. "I have always loved it and am always going to want it to be a part of my life in some way."

Before matches she likes to listen to early 2000s/2010s music "so I listen to a lot of throwbacks." Her two favorites, songs that she absolutely loves are 'The Spins' by Mac Miller and Polo G's 'Martin & Gina'. "I always try to listen to those before games."

While soccer is her favorite sport, she also loves basketball. She grew up playing a lot and became a huge fan. "I also enjoy watching some football and track and field."

Over the summer she babysat back home and took a vacation to Florida.

One thing many might not know about her is that she is terrified of heights. "It's one of my biggest fears – like definitely Top 3."

Last season, Julia started all eight games in which she played and took a shot against Mercer. Injuries held her out at the start of her freshman season. She has played in a total of 18 matches and recorded an assist her rookie season.
