CHATTANOOGA---The 18th-ranked Chattanooga Mocs are in game week mode for the first time in the 2021 season. And it's some matchup coming to Finley Stadium Thursday night.

The Mocs welcome the 20th-ranked Austin Peay Governors at 7:30 p.m. It's the only ranked matchup in FCS play in Week 1. It's also the fourth time in five years Chattanooga starts with a neighbor from the Ohio Valley Conference.

Most importantly, the project of projects is nearing completion. MocsVision produced a "30 for 30" styled feature on the life & times of the legendary Scrappy Moore. If you're knowledge of Scrappy is that's who the mascot is named after, this is a must see. If you know more than that, it's still a must see.

The project was produced, directed and edited by digital media services production director Tate Johnson. She was assisted vocally by Chris Goforth and in the written word in the 4-part series by Shane Shoemaker. It even ties into the current Mocs roster with student intern/junior tight end Juwan Tyus working on the closed captioning for the pieces.

The series begins tonight with episodes dropping daily on GoMocs.com and on the Mocs' Instagram and Facebook accounts. Shoemakers prose accompanies the web presence. It includes a host of former players, colleagues and civic leaders who helped share his enormous impact.

"This is a special project," Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Mark Wharton shared. "I'm looking forward to each day's release to help me get ready for an exciting start to the season. Tate did a phenomenal job taking hours upon hours of content and telling an important tale."
