GAME WEEK: Fan Information for Saturday’s Game at Finley

Kam Jones

Kam Jones and the Chattanooga Mocs open Southern Conference play with a visit from Western Carolina Saturday afternoon.

SCHEDULE | TICKETS | CLEAR BAG POLICY

CHATTANOOGA---It's been a month since the 19th-ranked Chattanooga Mocs strode into Finley Stadium. Everything is on the line when they make their return this weekend with the start of the Southern Conference slate.

Western Carolina is up first. It's a hungry football team that's started 0-4 with three narrow FCS losses. The fast-paced Catamounts lost late leads to Eastern Kentucky, Samford and at Gardner-Webb around a trip to Oklahoma.

"We'll have our hands full," Coach Rusty Wright explained. "They get it snapped quick (on offense). Every 10-15 seconds, they're getting a play off. It's moving and that concerns me a lot. We've seen that movie already this year as a defense. We have to be ready for that challenge.

"They're looking at the standings and not wanting to go 0-2 (in the league race). They want to find a way to get to 1-1."

The squad is excited to welcome fans back to Finley Stadium Saturday afternoon. There is more information below on tickets, but fans have until 11:59 p.m., Friday night to purchase the SoCon Mini-Plan for the 4-game SoCon home schedule. Exciting contests await against Western Carolina, ETSU, Furman and The Citadel.

SATURDAY WEATHER FORECAST
Mostly sunny with a high of 85 and low of 65.

PROMOTIONS
There are several promotions on the docket this weekend. It's a "White Out" with fans encouraged to wear white to the game. The first 1,000 fans get a white rally towel courtesy of Dr Pepper.

It is also Fall Family Weekend at UTC as well as Band Day. Approximately 500 local high school band students signed up to play alongside the Marching Mocs at the game. Regular tailgating includes the fun kid zone area with inflatables, photo opportunities and other games.
