Postgame Quotes at Wofford

2021-22 Chattanooga Mocs Men's Basketball
Game 15 – at Wofford – Jan. 5 – Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium
Postgame Quotes

Lamont Paris, Head Coach
On the toughness of the Southern Conference.
"Especially in some of these road games. This league, any league really, it has got so darn competitive and it's unbelievable. It's a good thing, but there's some nights I wish it wasn't always like this. What a fun game it was for the guys. The guys really responded with a couple guys out and they really responded. I'm happy for them. It's a big time road win against a good team who expects to win here."

On the physicality of Wofford.
"If there's not a collision at some point in the game, you're probably doing it wrong because they're not changing what they do. You had to either opt in or opt out. That was one of keys on the board, you had to embrace physicality. You had to do it. If you don't, they're going to fly off those screens and punk you."

On ending the first half on a 9-0 run.
"I thought that was really important. I know basketball is a game of runs, but when we get off to a start like that, I feel like maybe we think it's going to continue. They made a run and it was elongated much longer than what it should have been, but they made a run and then our guys got with it defensively. I thought that was huge in giving us the lead at half."

Darius Banks, Sr.-F
On conference play being tough.
"It's time. I think it's all about knowing your strengths and knowing your opponents' weaknesses and you have to play to both of them. I think that's the key in conference play."

On the physical mentality.
"I think we didn't have that mentality of going to the boards, we were just hoping to make shots. We were already thinking the shots were going in and I think that's what we need to get better at. We need to crash every time."

On being an unselfish and mature team.
"I think we're just a very unselfish time and there's time where we over pass. We pass too much. I think it's just because we're such an unselfish team. We knew they were going to have some runs, so we were prepared for it."
