- The 11th-ranked Chattanooga Mocs dropped a 35-24 decision to #9 Samford at Finley Stadium Saturday afternoon…Mocs are 7-3 overall, 5-2 in the SoCon…the Bulldogs move to 9-1, 7-0 in league play.
- Entered the game ranked No. 11 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 and No. 12 in the AFCA FCS Coaches Rankings…Samford was No. 9 in the coaches poll and No. 10 in Stats Perform.
- 5-2 in the SoCon standings…move into a tie for third with Mercer which lost to now second-place Furman at 6-1…Samford is on top at 7-0…Bulldogs and Bears meet next week in Birmingham, the Mocs head to Western Carolina and the Paladins renew their near cross-town rivalry with Wofford.
- All-time record of 561-548-35 (.506) in 1,144th game…115th season.
- 164-165-2 (.499) in 331 SoCon games…46th campaign in the league.

- RB Ailym Ford had 144 yards on 24 carries with two touchdowns…1,097 yards on the season is a career high as is 12 rushing touchdowns.
- Ford eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in 2022 during a 41-yard TD rush in the first quarter...1st rusher in UTC history with three 1,000-yard seasons.
- Ford ended the day with 144 yards...17th career 100-yard day which is a new school record passing Gwain Durden's (1977-80) 16.
- Ford scored two rushing TDs...second was the 32nd of his career, most by a running back in school history passing Derrick Craine's (2013-16) 31...former QB Jacob Huesman '15 holds the overall record with 43.
- 2nd career multi-sack game for senior edge Austin Collier…registered 2.0 on the day.
- Junior defensive end Ben Brewton also had two sacks…career-high 7.0 on the season…third career multi-sack game…tied career high of 2.0 set earlier this season at Eastern Illinois.
- Freshman wide receiver Sam Phillips had a career day with 11 catches for 163 yards…most catches by a Moc since
Wil Young's 13 at ETSU on Sept. 29, 2018…most yards since 268 by
Bryce Nunnelly at The Citadel on Sept. 9, 2018.
- Senior defensive tackle
Devonnsha Maxwell has three tackles with 1.0 sacks…36.5 career sacks now tied for second in Southern Conference history with Josh Jeffries who played from 1999-02 at Appalachian State…0.5 behind school and conference record holder Davis Tull '14 with 37.0.
- Maxwell now has 53.0 TFLs which is 7.0 shy of Davis Tull's '14 60.0…37.5 of Maxwell's TFLs have come in SoCon contests.
- Junior edge Jay Person had six tackles with 1.0 for loss…17.0 TFLs on the season is two shy of the school record held by Tull in 2012 and matched in 2016 by
Dale Warren of 19.0…two QB hurries.
- Senior QB Preston Hutchinson threw for a season-high 320 yards on 24 of 37 passing…337 yards total offense with four carries for 17 yards and a score…had two interceptions.
- Most passing yards by a Mocs signal caller since
Nick Tiano '19 threw for 347 at The Citadel in 2018.
- Season-high 15 tackles for Kam Jones…also a game-high number…4th double-digit tackle total of his career and one of his high of 16 at VMI last season.
- Fellow linebacker Ty Boeck had 13 tackles…third time this season and 12th of his career…314 career stops ranks eighth all-time, one behind Spanky Thomas (1984-86) with 315.
