CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball team hits the road for the second time this season, gearing up for a non-conference matchup with SEC-member Ole Miss on Tuesday night inside The Pavilion in Oxford, Miss. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on SEC Network+.
Chattanooga (1-1) is coming off its first win of the season Thursday night where the squad raced past NAIA-member Oakland City 93-49 inside McKenzie Arena. All 11 players for the Mocs scored during head coach Dan Earl's first victory as the bench boss in the Scenic City.
Ole Miss (2-0) comes into the contest with a pair of home wins over Alcorn State and Florida Atlantic last week to open the season. OM is led by junior guard Matthew Murrell (15.0ppg & 5.0rpg) who posted 20 points, six rebounds and three assists in the season opener against Alcorn State.

OPENING NOTES - LAST TIME OUT, NEXT TIME UP
Chattanooga earned its first win of the season behind a 93-49 rout over NAIA-member Oakland City (Ind.) on Thursday night inside McKenzie Arena for the home opener. All 11 active players for the Mocs scored with Jake Stephens leading the way with 19 (9-of-11 FG). Three different Mocs scored their first career collegiate points during the victory.
Chattanooga will meet Ole Miss for the seventh time in the series' history. The Mocs were defeated 90-70 in the last matchup that look place on December 16, 2018 in Oxford. Ole Miss is 2-0 this season with a pair of home wins over Alcorn State (73-58) and Florida Atlantic (80-67).
DAN EARL ERA HAS COMMENCED
Head coach Dan Earl begins his first season at the helm after accepting the job on March 31, 2022, replacing Lamont Paris who accepted a head coaching job at South Carolina. Earl, the 20-21 SoCon COTY, comes to the Scenic City following a seven-year stint as the head coach of SoCon foe VMI. He earned his first win at UTC with the 93-49 win over Oakland City on Thursday.
THE ALMANAC FEATURES HIGH PRAISE
The first edition of "The Almanac" - created by contributors from The Field of 68 outlet - featured a pair of Chattanooga representatives in its preseason conference outlook. The publication awarded Jake Stephens as the league's "Player That Scares You The Most" while head coach Dan Earl was tabbed the "Best X's & O's" leader in the conference.
