Paul Conroy’s run over the Chattanooga Mocs last three events led to top honors from the Southern Conference.

SPARTANBURG, S.C.---Chattanooga Mocs junior Paul Conroy is the Southern Conference Golfer of the Month for October the league office announced Friday afternoon. It is the first such honor for Conroy.
The native of Enniscorthy, Ireland put together two top 3 finishes over a 9-day stretch. He claimed his first collegiate win in dramatic fashion at N.C. State and followed up with a tie for third, two strokes out of the lead at Furman.
It started with the Wolfpack Intercollegiate. Conroy was even through his first 36 holes before finishing with a flourish. He entered the final round eight shots off the lead. Six birdies, an eagle and a hole-in-one later, and Conroy took the win with a 10-under 62 tying the school scoring record with Fredrik Qvicker '10.
He followed up with a strong effort at Furman tying for third. Those two performances keyed back-to-back wins for the program for the first time since 2012 (SoCon Championships & NCAA Bowling Green Regionals).
Conroy shot 18 under for the month, a 67.4 stroke average. Six of his seven cards were under par including four in a row in the 60s.
The Mocs return to the tee in February at historic Sawgrass Country Club. The Hayt Collegiate is February 5-6 and starts the spring side of the ledger.
