CHATTANOOGA---The 11th-ranked Chattanooga Mocs return to Finley Stadium this weekend to the 9th-ranked Samford Bulldogs. It's the second near top 10 matchup in the Mocs stately home this season with the good guys (#10 at the time) beating then No. 11 Mercer 41-21 under glorious Scenic City skies.
Â
Pundits call it a Big Game Week. It's what they do. As you'll see in the video below, that makes Coach Rusty Wright bristle slightly. As he simply put it, "when you get to this point in the season when you're playing for something, they're all big games."
Â
There were lighter moments too. Senior quarterback Preston Hutchinson shared the love of his offense from front to back including a little noticed fact to the casual viewer, running backs Ailym Ford and Gino Appleberry are really good in pass protection. Senior linebacker Kam Jones spoke of admiration for DT
Devonnsha Maxwell's play (especially when he takes on multiple blockers letting Jones flow freely to the ball).

He was followed by Jones then Hutchinson…

Â
Coach Wright joins "Voice of the Mocs" Jim Reynolds on Chat with the Mocs in a special Tuesday edition tonight at Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux on Broad Street in Chattanooga's Aquarium District. The change was made with the Mocs basketball teams starting their seasons last night. CWTM airs from 7-8 p.m., on 96.1 FM/1070 AM in the Scenic City area or
access it online here if you can't make it.
Â
Senior offensive lineman and world traveler Lucas Lavin is the special guest. Lavin joined the Mocs this past summer as a graduate transfer from Northern Colorado. He's a native of Sweden.
