2021-22 Chattanooga Mocs Men's Basketball
Game 28 – UNC Greensboro
Feb. 17 – McKenzie Arena – Chattanooga, Tenn.
Postgame Notes
Â
GENERAL
- The Chattanooga Mocs furious comeback fell short in a 73-70 loss to UNC Greensboro Thursday night in the Roundhouse…Mocs are now 22-5, 12-3 in the Southern Conference…the Spartans move to 16-11, 8-7 in the league.
- Chattanooga's lead is now two in the SoCon race…12-3 compared to 10-5 for Furman…magic number to clinch at least a share of a record-tying 12th SoCon regular season title is one (either a UTC win or Furman loss).
- Trailed 67-56 with 3:15 to play…went on 14-3 run to tie the game at 70-all at the 32-second mark on a
David Jean-Baptiste triple from the top of the key…the Spartans called two timeouts to adjust to the Mocs defense before Kobe Langley hit a three under pressure from
Grant Ledford…the Mocs inbounds play after a timeout was a hook-and-ladder, but
Darius Banks pitch to a streaking Jean-Baptiste was tipped by Langley and time expired.
- 28th game all-time on Feb. 17 with a 18-10 record…last was the epic 89-81 overtime win last season against Western Carolina coming back from 12 down and 3:23 to play against Western Carolina.

- +7 (8-15) in turnover margin…+14 (23-9) in points off turnovers…nine of the 23 came in the final 3:15, both 3pt.
- -13 on the glass (20-33)…worst since -14 (26-40) last season in Chattanooga against UNCG (1/23/21)…20 rebounds are the fewest by the Mocs since 17 in the Feb. 10, 2018 home loss to Mercer.
