KENNESAW, Ga. – The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis team suffered a 6-1 setback on Friday afternoon on the road at Kennesaw State at the on-campus Betty Siegel Courts in Kennesaw, Ga.
Following the loss, Chattanooga falls to 1-6 on the season. Kennesaw State improved to 4-2 following the victory.
"We definitely needed better doubles play today," said head coach
Chuck Merzbacher. "That hurt us. We had some injuries that forced us to take some guys out in singles, however, our singles play was fairly strong across the board."
Kerim Hyatt earned the lone victory and point for the Mocs today with a solid 6-3, 7-5 decision in singles over Kennesaw State's Harvey Conway. An effort that coach Merzbacher appreciated.
"Kerim picked up a good win at No. 3 for us today," he added.
Chattanooga returns to action Sunday, February 20 as it hosts Lipscomb for a 12:00 p.m. ET matchup. When available, live stats and results will be posted at GoMocs.com.
