Beach Volleyball Opens Season in Greeneville Friday

Mocs Face Tusculum, Eastern Kentucky and Carson Newman

Greeneville, Tenn.– Chattanooga's beach volleyball team is set to begin its second full season in program history Friday morning in Greeneville, Tenn.

The Mocs will play the hosts, Tusculum, to start off the weekend at 12 p.m. on Friday. UTC will conclude the first day of competition with Eastern Kentucky at 4 p.m. before rounding out the tournament on Saturday morning with Carson Newman at 10 a.m.

Head Coach Darin Van Horn's young squad consists of six freshman, two sophomores, a redshirt junior and four seniors. Gylian Finch, Baylee Young, Hanley Lomax and Victoria Cerino are the four seniors on the squad. Young and Finch were named two of the top three players in the Ohio Valley Conference preseason rankings.

Among the six freshmen are Neva Clark, Kaye Gresham, Julia Davis, Grace Frigaard, Joy Courtright and Madi Morris.

In their first full season as a program last year, the Mocs went 8-11 overall and 7-3 in the OVC to secure the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament.
