CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis team dropped a heartbreaking 4-3 decision to in-state foe Belmont on Sunday afternoon inside the Strang-Voges Tennis Center on the campus of The McCallie School.
 
Following the defeat, Chattanooga falls to 1-3 on the young season. Belmont remained perfect and improved its season mark to 4-0.
 
"This was an exciting and hard-fought college match," said head coach Chuck Merzbacher. "All the tennis that was played over three hours, probably came down to a tiebreaker in doubles."
 
Merzbacher added, "The kids really fought and played hard. Our older guys showed leadership, and our young guys just need more matches but I couldn't be more proud of the effort."
 
Chattanooga returns to action on Friday, February 11 as it travels to Hattiesburg, Miss., to face Southern Miss at 3 p.m. ET. When available, live stats and results will be posted at GoMocs.com.
