CLARKSVILLE – Chattanooga's Beach Volleyball team opened the Govs Beach Challenge with a 4-1 win over the Carson Newman Eagles on Friday afternoon in Clarksville, Tenn.
Joy Courtright and
Julia Davis won their third straight match in a row at No. 5 in straight sets, 21-13, 21-18. The Mocs won at the top three pairs, also in two sets.
Baylee Young and
Gylian Finch, at the top spot, secured a 21,14, 21-18 win. At No. 2,
Paige Gallentine and
Neva Clark won both sets 21-16 and
Hanley Lomax and
Bailey Steger came out victorious 21-12, 21-10 at the No. 3 pair.
The Mocs close out competition at the Govs Beach Challenge tomorrow with an 11 a.m. (EST) matchup with Central Arkansas before an 12:30 p.m. (EST) battle with Austin Peay.
