Florence, Ala .– Chattanooga's beach volleyball team split a doubleheader in Florence, Ala. against North Alabama on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Lions 3-2 in the opener before falling 4-1 in the second game of the day.
At the three's pair, Victoria Cerino and Madi Morris, tied the match at one with a three-set, 15-21, 21-10, 15-12 victory. The Mocs secured their fourth straight win as Hanley
Lomax and Bailey Steger won at No. 3 21-17, 15-21, 15-10 before Gylian Finch and Paige Gallentine secured the match for UTC with a 2-1 (21-13, 18-21, 15-10) win at No. 2.
In the second match, North Alabama won four of the five matches. The Mocs' lone win came at No. 1 from Young and Clark winning their bout after UNA's duo retired.
The Mocs return to the sand on Thursday, March 10 for their home opener at noon against UNC Wilmington before a rematch against North Alabama at 4 p.m.
