Hattiesburg, Miss. – Chattanooga's Beach Volleyball team fell to the University of Texas A&M Kingsville 4-1 and Southern Miss 3-2 on Friday at the Southern Miss Beach Invitational in Hattiesburg, Miss.
In the first match, after falling behind 2-0,
Madi Morris and
Victoria Cerino at No. 3 kept UTC alive with a straight set, 21-12, 28-26 win before Kingsville won the top two matches to seal a 4-1 win.
Against Southern Miss, the match was tied after
Joy Courtright and
Kaye Gresham won a three-set battle at No. 5, 19-21, 21-18, 15-9. Southern Miss won at No. 2 and 3 to secure the win.
Baylee Young and
Gylian Finch won a narrow three-set match by a score of 15-13 in the third set.
The Mocs fall to 10-6 on the season and wrap up the Southern Miss Beach Invitational with Spring Hill and Huntingdon tomorrow beginning at 9:30 a.m. EST.
