WEST POINT, Miss.---The Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team went a man down midway through the Mossy Oak Collegiate but competed until the end finishing 16th in the strong field. The Mocs completed round two this morning with 296 before adding a final 298 to the tally for a 54-hole total of 885.

Paul Conroy led the way over the last 36 holes. He tied for the low second card with Leon Bader at 72 (E) before coming through with 1-under 71 on the final 18. That gave him a level-par 216 for the tourney, his sixth at par or better in nine events.
 
Connor Nolan nearly matched Conroy with 72 on the last round after 79 in the middle. He shot 219 for the event after Monday's 68. Alex Cobb was three behind with a consistent 222, while Bader ended at 235.
 
Braedon Wear had to withdraw midway through round two meaning every shot the four above took counted. It puts a lot of pressure on a group that was pushing towards a top 5 finish in a field that included four top 20 teams and six overall in the top 50.
 
"We're really starting to see some good things," interim coach Miles Moseley noted. "I really like the progress heading into the postseason. It was difficult losing Braedon to injury. You never want to play with only four because no one can have an off day.
 
"He'll hit the training room when we get back home, and we'll have a better idea of the situation for next weekend."
 
No. 3 Vanderbilt claimed a 12-shot win over 16th-ranked Auburn. The Commodores Gordon Sargent won medalist honors with a 12-under total of 204.
 
The Mocs return to the tee at the Southern Conference Championships in 10 days. The three-day, 54-hole odyssey is played on the Oconee Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Ga.
