Softball Continues Road Swing at Samford

Mocs and Bulldogs begin three-game series Saturday at 2 p.m. EST

BIRMINGHAM, ALA. – The Chattanooga Mocs' softball team heads to Birmingham, Ala. this weekend to face the Samford Bulldogs. After the conclusion of the series, seven of the last eight games for Chattanooga will have been road contests. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m. EST of a Saturday doubleheader and the two teams will conclude the series on Sunday at two.  

The Mocs are 21-20 overall and 5-4 in the Southern Conference this season. Samford enters the weekend at 23-15 overall and is second in the league with an 8-1 mark.

CHATTANOOGA'S SEASON TO DATE
Chattanooga enters the weekend 21-20 and 5-4 in Southern Conference action. The Mocs are coming off of an off weekend after suffering a sweep to league-leading UNCG two weeks ago followed by two midweek losses. Offensively, the Mocs are led by Emily Coltharp, who is hitting .382, which also leads the league. Chattanooga has hit 36 home runs as a team, led by Kaili Phillips (8) and Olivia Lipari (8). The duo has combined for 44% of the Mocs' long balls. In the circle, Brooke Parrott paces the squad with a 2.59 ERA. She holds a 9-5 record with six complete games in 16 starts. Hannah Wood has shined in relief, holding a 2.85 ERA with starts and 14
relief appearances.

REAGAN CAN RAKE
Chattanooga's sophomore slugger, Reagan Armour, was named the SoCon Player of the Week two weeks ago after hitting .667 with a 1.444 slugging percentage against ETSU. Over the last 10 games, she leads the team with a .379 batting average and .724 slugging percentage. She has four extra-base hits and nine RBI in that span.

GOING… GOING… GONE!
UTC has belted 36 home runs this season, led by eight from Phillips and Lipari. Chattanooga's 36 homers have come from ten different players with six Mocs posting three or more this season. 16 of their 36 homers have come in the third or fourth inning (44%).

SERIES HISTORY
